Private Nest
It’s been more than twenty years photographing families, always choosing to visit
their homes.
This has characterized my work, humanized my portraits, and added to their own
content and style.
I am invited to enter, to survey all around me and to find a sign, perceiving the
other. Through them, I perceive myself.
In each home, a hidden story, full of guarded emotions and inspirations to the
artist.
Beauty in simplicity. A solitary journey filled with rewards.
During these sessions, I was impacted by a growing interest for the small episodes
of daily life.
Little scenes left behind, too mundane to the distracted eye, but too vivid to my
fascinated regard.
I am moved to observe the common with enchantment.
About eight years ago my eye took a new path and turned my attention to the
fragments of everyday life.
I emphasize the augmented reality pictured in these images, thinning the lines
between real and fantasy.
The use of colors played an indispensable role in this series, marking their presence
without the aid of form.
I present a group of 19 images. Five unpublished, a few reedited, and two
previously exhibited in group shows at the Grand Palais in Paris (2012-2013).

Communications in 1990.
Began studying photography in Oxford, England, when she bought her first
camera. Fascinated by the natural light that has always been her great inspiration.
Two years later, she stood out as a fashion and life style photographer in the Brazilian

European cities.
In 2000, she created and was the curator of the Fine Art project Photo Gallery, which
displayed the work of renowned photographers from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Upon
exploring different themes, Isabel immersed into portraits.
The result is a body of work directly related to the involvement drawn between the
photographer and her subject; the person, landscape or object. In 2011 she began a new
project, entitled Private Nest. A fine line that brings together her work as an artist. In
